We were so anxious to get home to Indiana and meet/snuggle sweet Hudson (especially with all this little man had been through the first few weeks of his little life). As soon as we made it home we went to the Verba house to see the little guy and his big brother! Later in the day the Alwine cousins came to visit and play with us as well. Lyla and Kately had fun seeing and playing with their cousins. Then that evening while we were eating dinner at Grandpa and Grandma's house, the flu attacked Lyla...hard. It always breaks my heart when one of my babies is sick and I can't do anything, yet it makes me so extremely grateful that they are healthy little girls. Can't imagine having a child with a serious illness or disease. Anyway, we felt absolutely AWFUL that we had just been at the Verba's that day and not only exposed all of our cousins to the flu, but especially tiny Hudson. Basically we quarantined ourselves for the rest of our visit. Daddy came up Friday evening...just in time for the flu to attack Kately. We decided to head back that Saturday since both girls were under the weather. Thankfully Kately's only lasted about 24 hours. A special thank you to Grandpa and Grandma for helping me - especially late in the night - and our apologies for bringing the flu to IN. Luckily Hudson never got sick, but unfortunately Aunt Lori got it and eventually all of the Alwine family. It may be awhile before they are excited about us coming back home!!

And then the rest of my week pretty much looked like this...
As much as I hated her being sick, selfishly I have to admit I loved the extra snuggle time with my usually independent toddler
We did a lot of coloring while not feeling well.
