Disney Day 1

Well, the countdown is over - the Peters made it to Disney!! After a little scare the day before - Kate woke up Wednesday morning coughing and complaining of a sore throat. After much deliberation Heath and I decided we better try to get her in somewhere. Thankfully a friend of ours is a doctor at an Urgent Care nearby so we were able to get her right in. Of course she tested positive for strep throat AND the flu! 😩 I felt so bad, here I thought (and was praying) it was just a little cold. Thankfully we were able to get her on antibiotics and Tamiflu right away. However, since her throat hurt so bad she didn't want to eat any dinner which meant all of these meds on an empty stomach...which led to her getting sick around 9 p.m. - we were supposed to be leaving for the airport at 5 a.m. in the morning! I went into complete crazy, panic mode - "We shouldn't be traveling with a sick kid! We can't do this! What are we going to do, Heath?!? We are spending so much money, should I cancel everything?!?" After Heath calmed me down😳, he convinced me that worse case scenario we could take turns staying with Kate at the hotel and taking Lyla to the park. We said our prayers and went to sleep. When I went upstairs to wake the girls up at 4:30, you would never have known Kate was so sick the day before! She talked the WHOLE way to the airport, sooo excited! Thankfully she was such a trooper the whole flight and really seemed to turn it around, thank you, Jesus!!

Once we touched down in Orlando we had lunch reservations at Chef Mickey's so we went straight to the Contemporary Resort. This was a blast and such a fun thing to do first. The girls about lost it when Mickey and all of his friends came walking through the restaurant! They got to meet them all, get their autographs, and a few pictures. After lunch we took the Monorail to the Magic Kingdom and then took a bus from there to our resort, The Art of Animation. The Monorail was a huge hit! We spent the afternoon exploring our resort and swimming. In the evening we ate dinner at our hotel and went to bed early so we could head to the Magic Kingdom early in the morning. Such a fun first day!

New troll dolls and the movie, Trolls,  to get us through the flight

Someone started feeling MUCH better once we landed 🙏

WE'RE HERE!!

When the characters first came out they did a little parade through the restaurant. Everyone was supposed to wave their napkins in the air! The girls were so excited!
