The Sunday before Easter our church had the egg hunt of all egg hunts! There were bouncy houses, thousands of eggs, and the easter bunny. Thankfully they had all of the eggs sectioned off by age groups. Lyla was in the baby-2 year old group. Our preacher joked that the older kids' egg hunt was more of a hunger games event…I saw why! It was funny watching the older kids finish in a matter of seconds while our kids were still on their 2nd or 3rd egg. Even though she wasn't quite the competitor her dad was hoping for, she still had a lot of fun!
We could not believe how much Lyla loved the Easter bunny. We hadn't even talked about the Easter bunny but she ran right to him as soon as she saw him.
This is a terrible picture of me. Despite looking 20 months pregnant, Heath and I are dying because we just realized the bunny was one of our good friends, Andy Kacena. I was very concerned when he knew my daughter by name until we realized who was in the suit!
Daddy giving her the pre game "pep talk"
We kept saying, "Go, Lyla, Go!!" But she was content to sit and play with the first egg she found :)
Checking out her Loot
Making Easter egg cookies
She helped me decorate a couple of cookies until she realized it was more fun to eat them
Coloring Easter Eggs
Last weekend we took a trip to Build-A-Bear to make baby sister a teddy bear
Putting in baby sister's heartbeat
Stuffing the bear
Giving the bear a bath
A tutu and sparkly headband finish the job
So proud
Last night as an only child!
