Mother's Day

Mother's Day is definitely bittersweet. We were able to go home and celebrate with my mother and grandmother which was wonderful, but we definitely were missing someone special. It is hard to believe it has already been over a year since we lost Sherrill. There are so many times I just want to pick up the phone and call her to tell her about the new things Lyla is doing and also to tell her what an AMAZING father Heath is. While I'd give anything to talk to her or see her one more time, I'm constantly reminded that even though she isn't with us physically, we still feel her presence all the time. I see her smile in our daughter and every once in awhile Lyla makes this one face where Heath and I just look at each other and say, "that is so your mom!"I know she is always looking out for us and loving our sweet Lyla Jean. We miss you, Mom!!
