Goodbye May

It is not length of life, but depth of life.

Here are the rest of the pictures from May. Seriously, who is this big girl??

Such a sweetie

Lyla's 9 Month Pictures

I am finally posting these…mainly because trying to take a 9 month old's picture is proving to be quite difficult these days! I tried to first on my own but did not get a single decent shot. She was either on the move or would not smile. It turns out I need the help of an adorable two year old, a golden retriever, and of course Daddy! I can't believe how big she looks!

A special thanks to my lovely assistant!

Memorial Day Weekend

Wohoo! The first weekend of summer in my book. This year we stuck around St. Louis which was nice but we did miss not being at the race or relaxing on the pontoon on Lake Pleasant. On Friday Lyla and I met some of my teacher friends who are finally done with school and their kids at Suson Park (which is just down the road from where we live and we never knew about it). This park was so much fun because they have a whole farm complete with pigs, cows, horses, and goats.

On Saturday we went to the zoo in the morning - I don't know who was more excited when we woke up to take Lyla to the zoo for the first time, Heath or me! It was perfect zoo weather, 65 degrees and sunny.

The new sea lion exhibit

She was so infatuated with the fish I'm not sure if she ever saw the hippos beyond the fish
The Monkey House

She was having quite the conversation with this little guy

Ahhh! A monkey got loose!

Saturday afternoon and evening the Wassons and the Trotts came over for a cookout. Lyla enjoyed playing with her friends :)

On Sunday Heath went to the Senior PGA Championship here in St. Louis while Lyla and I watched the Indy 500…well she watched the first lap

On Monday after we went to the club to workout, we drove through Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery - Wow. Over 150,000 soldiers are buried here dating back to the Civil War. It was also emotional being there on Memorial Day and seeing all of the flags placed at each individual grave. A lot of families were there placing flowers and paying their respects. Thank you to all of those who serve, have served, and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom!

We ended the day by going out for lunch and "Skyping" Grandpa Peters.

Happy Memorial Day!

Crazy Girl

And Mother of the Year goes to...

So I hear a noise on the monitor and check it to see that not only has Lyla woken up from her nap but she has managed to take off her cloth diaper - she was not wearing any pants when I put her down. I went upstairs to get her and grabbed my phone to take a picture of her cute little buns…

As soon as I snapped the last picture that is when I noticed in her cute, pudgy hand she was holding something...

OH MY GOSH!! It is a tiny, brown ball of…poop! AAAHHHH! I picked her up so fast to find a smudge on the side of her mouth…did my kid eat poop?!?!? Bleh! I threw her in the tub (as I was gagging), cleaned her up and then went on a search for more poop balls. I found another one outside of the crib. I guess I will never know how many were in the diaper...or what she did with them!

Fun Weekend

Our child is obsessed with dogs.

Because of this obsession we were very excited to take her to Purina Farms which is located about 40 minutes west of St. Louis. Not only did we get to see a dog show but they also had a lot of farm animals which Lyla enjoyed looking at. We met some friends there, Ryan and Amber Creek and their son Ryder who is about 3 weeks younger than Lyla. Very fun!

On Sunday we went to Grant's Farm - with everyone else in St. Louis and their brother! It was very crowded and very hot so we didn't last too long but still enjoyed the day.

So hot!

The rest of the day we relaxed on the couch with this little monkey.

WARNING: Feeding your kid chicken might make them do crazy things!!
