Disney Day 2

Magic Kingdom, here we come! Since we were staying at a Disney resort, this morning we had an extra Magical Hour in the park. We grabbed some breakfast at our hotel and were able to catch the first bus from our resort to the park. I wish I would have taken a picture of Heath's face when the park opened - he couldn't believe all of the people (grown men especially) that took off running when the rope was lowered! It was quite an experience for him! 😂 We truly had a great day at the park with a couple of minor hiccups...

I have been to Disney World many times before but seeing it all through the eyes of my kids was truly an amazing experience! I'm so thankful for the memories we made!

We made it!

While waiting for the park to open, someone was mapping our day out

As soon as we got into the park, we ran to the Snow White Mine Ride because it has the longest wait time about all day. Kate LOVED it - she was not scared at all!

Hands up!

Teacup ride

Daddy had us going pretty fast!

Next was the only ride Daddy remembered as a little boy, Tomorrow Land Speedway. We had some crazy drivers!

Our first Princess of the day! The girls were so excited!

The Little Mermaid ride was definitely a favorite

Next we met Rapunzel and Tiana - I love this pic of the girls when we first came in the room and they saw the princesses 💕

Tiana is Kate's current favorite, I think Kate could have sat and stared at her all day!

Next we stopped by Gaston's Tavern for a morning snack - the huge cinnamon rolls did not disappoint!

Loving life!

The girls could not stop talking about the Rapunzel bathrooms!

The Dumbo ride had completely changed since I had last been here. Now instead of waiting in line, they give you a beeper and you can roam around the circus tent that had a huge playground inside. We completely underestimated the wait time and ended up having about 45 min. in here - which was a little stressful! The girls loved it, but it was dark and completely filled with kids. I thought we lost the girls about 5 five time!

Finally time to ride!

My little princesses

The camera man totally made us do these next two pictures...AWKWARD! 🙈

There was a little show going on in front of the castle so the girls spent some time dancing to the music

It was right about this time we encountered our first hiccup of the day - our video camera was missing! I felt so sick! I kept my backpack under the stroller unless we were riding a ride and then I had it on my back. I was keeping the camera in the side pocket and when I went to grab it, it was gone! We backtracked and went all over fantasy land trying to find our camera until it was almost time for our reservation for an early dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table in the castle. I was so sick because this was the part of the day I wanted to video tape the most - the girls meeting all of the princesses. But Heath definitely kept me grounded - at least we weren't looking for a lost child!

Walking into the castle

CINDERELLA!!

After meeting Cinderella they send you up the curved staircase to the ballroom

I had read mixed reviews about the food, everyone said you are paying for the experience of eating in the castle, not for the food. We all thought the food was great - especially the desserts! Throughout dinner they sound a trumpet and then announce the arrival of different princesses. The princesses then go around to each table for pictures and autographs. The girls were in Heaven!

Lyla kept telling Ariel, "We already met you today, but you weren't a human." She seemed a little confused! 😂 I had to explain to her we met her in her grotto when she was a mermaid 😉

After dinner it was almost time for the parade so Heath and I found a great spot to park the strollers which happened to be in front of the ice cream parlor! Since we were early, I decided to run down and check the lost and found to see if anyone had turned in our camera yet...

Of course there was a long line, apparently we weren't the only people who had lost items that day! As I was waiting in line, I heard over the PA they had a few high school marching bands that were going to entertain the crowd before the parade started. I finally talked to someone and our camera had not been turned in but they gave me a number to call that evening, more fast passes and they gave us a gift card for $150 to credit our memory maker (the package that gives you pictures from any of the hundreds of photographers around the park). I thought that was very gracious and made my way back down Main Street to find my family just as the parade was about to start. Enter second hiccup of the day...they were gone! I frantically called Heath on the phone and asked where we he went! He said the parade was over and he was currently in the middle of the street trying to push two strollers while yelling at Lyla who had just dropped my ice cream on the ground. I immediately saw him and the hot mess that was taking place just as the first float started coming down the road!! Wish I would have taken a picture! I ran and helped him move to the sidewalk and may have said something like, "Are you kidding me?!? You thought the high school marching bands wearing Mickey ears was the parade?!? We had the best seats possible!" Anyway...after about 10 minutes we were able to laugh about the whole situation but then spent the next 20 minutes watching the parade like this standing behind lines of people...

We survived! We did agree that the best type of pre-marital counseling should take place in Disney. "You think you want to get married? Here, take a stroller and 3 kids to Disney World and see if you can make it through the day!" We did enjoy people watching and seeing other couples have "minor disagreements" throughout the day. I guess you can expect it even at the happiest place on earth 😂

Jungle cruise

Some of us were really excited for the It's a Small World ride...

And some of us were not 😜

Apparently Disney World has a big brother because at the end of the ride we saw this on a screen

Ready for some fireworks

About five minutes into the fireworks we realized Kately was asleep and Lyla had her head down and ears covered...so we decided to beat the crowds to wait for a bus back to our resort.

What a fun day at the Magic Kingdom! I cannot say enough about how proud I am of these two! It was such a long day with no naps and they were complete troopers!
